Interoperability is the key feature that made Web Services the most widely used, successful off-spring of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

WSO2 StockTrader [1] is an online stock trading sample application with functionality equivalent to the Microsoft .NET Stock Trader sample benchmark application [2] and IBM WebSphere's Trade 6.1 sample application [3]. WSO2 StockTrader is powered by WSO2 WSF/PHP [3] and WSO2 WSAS [3] and implements the application both in PHP and Java.

The benchmark application was showcased as part of the Microsoft Tech•Ed North America 2008 IT Professionals conference, where Jonathan Marsh - Director of Mashup Technologies at WSO2 - together with Microsoft's Greg Leek - Director of Connected Systems Division - explained WSO2 WSF/PHP Interoperability with Microsoft WCF.
